Photog charged with sex assault of model!
August 27th, 2008A Toronto fashion photographer has been charged with sexually assaulting a model and detectives are asking whether there have been any similar offences in the past.
A Nova Scotia woman, 21, was at a Morrow Ave. photo studio in the Dundas St.-Sorauren Ave. area on Friday when the alleged assault took place, Toronto Police said yesterday. The woman left the studio and went to 52 Division to file a report. Police raided the business and seized some items. A suspect was arrested, charged and released. The alleged incident was not photographed or videotaped, police said.
Douglas Shimizu, 45, of Toronto, was charged with sexual assault. Shimizu is to appear in Old City Hall court Sept. 12. Doug Shimizu Photography Inc. has a website that features photos of models in lingerie, along with glamour, fashion, scenery and advertising shots depicting national brands.
